Accounting Manager

VPLS is a technology service provider seeking a candidate for a newly created Accounting Manager position that is a strategic leader that can take command of a fast paced environment and industry. You will play a crucial role in establishing the financial and operational processes needed to support our company’s growth. You will be responsible for key functions such as the management and preparation of financial statements, revenue recognition, month end close, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivables, tax, audit and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage 2 direct reports responsible for AP/AR, Cash Management, Quickbooks reporting
  • Generate monthly financial reporting for US business units related to Actual/Budget/Forecast. Track spending for Corporate Departments and work with Managers to stay within budgets.
  • Maintain all financial ledgers including the General Ledger and its sub-ledgers.
  • Participate in the preparation of long and short term financial forecasts.
  • Play a key role in the annual budget and business plan process.
  • Prepare monthly sales commission calculations and provide to payroll on a timely basis.
  • Produce required Management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports in accordance with applicable Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Assist our Accountant with annual and quarterly tax requirements and misc. tax prep.
  • Review reports from Asia business unit on a quarterly basis.
  • Support corporate transactions including equity or debt financing, M&A, and IPO preparations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a self-starter capable of working within a team environment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • A. degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA, CPA, CA, or CMA a plus.
  • Financial forecasting and management reporting experience in a must..
  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in accounting or finance within a technology environment.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and corporate tax preferred
  • Experience with Quickbooks, Quickbook online
  • Advanced computer skills, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
